The apex socio-cultural group representing the Igbo people, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has strongly condemned the recent killings of security agents and innocent citizens by gunmen in Imo State.
The group called on the Federal Government and security agencies to spare no effort in identifying and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Ohanaeze expressed deep sadness at the situation, particularly due to the fact that fellow Igbo people were involved in the attacks. They also expressed concern over the increasing number of security agents being killed not just in the Igbo land but across the country.
Ohanaeze demanded a comprehensive report on the incident and plans to send a team to assess the situation on the ground. They urged the government to take immediate action to prevent future occurrences. The group also highlighted their ongoing efforts to bring about positive changes and development in Igbo land, including job creation and infrastructure improvement.
Ohanaeze extended their sympathies to the families of the slain security agents and the people affected by the reprisal attack, and prayed for peace and prosperity to be restored to the Igbo land.
