Engr. Dotun Sanusi, a renowned philanthropist and owner of Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, has been appointed as the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun. The installation took place at the Olubadan’s residence in Alarere. Sanusi was previously serving as Mogaji Ile Olugbade, Oja’ba, and has now been promoted to the position of Jagun Olubadan.
The vacancy for the Jagun Olubadan position arose following the passing of Chief Lateef Oyelade, the former Ekeefa Olubadan of Ibadanland. According to Sanusi, his elevation is a result of his significant contributions towards the progress and development of Ibadanland. He expressed his dedication to continue uplifting Ibadanland, assuring that this is just the beginning and more positive endeavors are yet to come.
The installation ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Barr. Niyi Ajewole, the President-general of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII). Also present were Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, the President of the Association of Ibadan Mogajis, Barr. Chief Muyiwa Makinde, the elder brother of the Governor of Oyo State, and Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, the Coordinator of Ibadan Compounds Peace Initiatives, among others.
