The Presidential Election Tribunal, responsible for reviewing election disputes in the country, has announced the postponement of Tuesday’s hearing regarding the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied People’s Movement (APM). The tribunal, based in Abuja, the capital of the country, has rescheduled the meeting to take place on Tuesday.
In addition to the PDP and APM petition, the pre-hearing proceedings for the petitions submitted by the Action Peoples Party (APP), the Labour Party, and Peter Obi have also been delayed. These proceedings will now be held on Wednesday.
The tribunal will prioritize the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP, and the Allied People’s Movement during Tuesday’s proceedings. These parties are contesting the results of the February 25 presidential election.
According to Channels Television, the tribunal had already commenced its pre-hearing process for the petitions challenging the election results. However, due to the postponement, the proceedings will continue at a later date.
