The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has officially disclosed its comprehensive schedule of activities leading up to the highly anticipated Edo State governorship election. This crucial announcement, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, unfolded on Thursday following a joint session of the Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
Marked by meticulous planning, the timetable outlines key milestones, with the governorship candidate emerging during the party’s congress scheduled for February 22, 2024. Embarking on the journey towards this pivotal event, the party has designated a period for the registration of both existing and new members from November 16 to December 7.
December 14 emerges as a pivotal date, serving as the deadline for the submission of ward registers to the Directorate of Organisation and Mobilisation. Following this, a crucial stakeholders’ consultative meeting with the National Working Group is slated for December 19 and 20, injecting a collaborative spirit into the pre-election preparations.
As the calendar progresses into the new year, the spotlight turns to January, with the sale of expression of interest and ad-hoc forms for all offices taking place from January 10 to 16. The deadline for the submission of these completed forms is fixed on January 17, encapsulating the final stage of candidate preparations.
