The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME) nationwide. According to The PUNCH, close to 1.6 million candidates across over 700 centres are expected to sit for the exams which will run until May 12, 2023.
Our correspondent who visited some centres in Ilorin, Kwara State, observed that candidates were being checked into the examination halls through the use of Biometric Verification Machines. While some candidates reported encountering hitches during the verification process, officials on the ground assured our correspondent that all issues would be resolved.
The UTME was initially scheduled to begin on April 29, 2023, but the board later announced a change in the date to accommodate some other major national assignments. The registration for Direct Entry examinations will commence immediately after the UTME exams.
