The management of Bayero University in Kano State has temporarily suspended the ongoing first-semester undergraduate examinations for the 2022/2023 academic session, along with all other academic activities. The decision was communicated through a statement signed by the acting Registrar, Mrs. Amina Abdullahi, and released to the press in Kano on Tuesday night.
The university’s move to halt the examinations is in response to the nationwide strike initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC). The university unions, aligning with the strike, have collectively decided to suspend academic activities until further notice.
Despite the interruption, the statement urges students to remain composed and await further instructions from the university’s management. It clarifies that the ongoing examinations are midway through completion and assures that once the strike concludes, the examinations will resume as planned.
