In a bid to equip Nigerian youth with valuable skills and expand employment opportunities, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development has partnered with KAFTAN Ideabox Creative Academy to launch the “Nigeria Film Factory” project.
This initiative falls under the broader One Youth, Two Skills program, designed to provide young Nigerians with practical training in film production and related creative industries.
With Nigeria’s film industry—Nollywood—being one of the largest in the world, this collaboration seeks to harness its economic potential by equipping young people with industry-relevant skills.
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, speaking when delegation from KAFTAN Ideabox Creative Academy paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, said that the project is perfectly fit for the ministry’s vision to equip Nigerian youth with diverse skills and opportunities.
The collaboration will see the ministry lending its institutional backing to the academy’s efforts in discovering, training and supporting young talents across various aspects of filmmaking.
The partnership is expected to introduce a Polytechnic-level certification program, enabling participants to earn diplomas in film production. This formal recognition is expected to enhance employability and create new opportunities within the entertainment sector.
